Two minor girls kidnapped from Sikkim rescued in Haryana

Two minor girls who were kidnapped from the Sikkimese capital of Gangtok have now been rescued in Haryana

Guwahati: Two minor girls who were reportedly kidnapped from Gangtok in East Sikkim, were rescued on August 14 by a joint team of police.

A police team from Gangtok successfully traced the girls to Ambala in Haryana from where they were rescued.

A complaint of missing minor girls received at Sadar PS on 15/8/20. The police swung into action and with the help of call detail analysis, the Police were able to trace the location of traffickers to Ambala on August 17.

The team led by SI Tilak Chettri arrested the traffickers with the assistance of the Ambala Police. Three Traffickers are arrested by a joint operation of Sadar Police in Gangtok and Ambala Police.

The rescue was made especially challenging due to lockdowns and restrictions at multiple places. IRB Delhi also helped the team with logistics and manpower.

With the mission accomplished, the minor girls and the accused were finally brought back to Sikkim on 28th August 2020.
