Agartala: The 74th Mass Education Day was observed across the state of Tripura on Thursday. With the initiative by the tribal wing of CPI (M) Ganamukti Parishad, various leaders of the state took part in the programme today.
CPI(M) also recalled the contribution in the leaders who played an active role in the liberalizing the education movement in the region.
Also, a flag hoisting ceremony in front of all the CPI(M) offices was witnessed during the daylong event.
President of Tripura State Gana Mukti Parishad, MP Jitendra Chowdhury highlighted the expects of the mass education movement along with the history, he said that the state's states started the public education movement while standing against the dark period.
The mass education day was observed by the CPI (M) Tripura State Committee office was also observed on this day. Also, former secretary of the Tripura State Committee of the CPI (M) Bijan Dhar was also present at the programme.
It may be mentioned that n the hilly areas of the state, through the mass education movement, the CPI (M) had strengthened their foundations.
Talking about mass education in a meeting at the hill areas of the state, CPI(M) stated before the media that the CPI (M) is trying to re-strengthen and gain their lost power in the region.
