8 Injured in a Clash between Two factions of BJP, Tripura Ministers Says Conspiracy of Opposition

A clash between two warring factions of the Bharatiya Janata Party taking place on Wednesday left eight BJP workers injured. Of the eight injured people, two are policemen. The incident took place at Silachari in Gomati district, 106 Km from Agartala during the inaugural event of a new building. Notably, the inaugural ceremony was to be attended by Minister of Agriculture Pranajit Singha Roy and the minister arrived while the clash was already in action.

Karbook Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kamal Debbarma said, “Eight persons including Officer-in-charge of Silachari police station Jayanta Malakar and Special Police Officer (SPO) Babulal Chakma were injured in the clash. They were later admitted to the Gomati District Hospital.”

However, the clash did not hamper the inaugural ceremony and the event continued peacefully after a brief gap and the minister too was unhurt during the clash.

Notable thing is that the Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy denied such reports of a clash between two BJP factions. The minister is rather of this opinion that the clash took place due to a chaos created by some supporters of the opposition party. It was actually a conspiracy of the opposition party to disrupt the event and create a chaos. The motto behind the chaos created by the opposition supporters was to damage the image of BJP-IPFT government in Tripura.

Roy said, “Some opposition supporters tried to disturb the programme and damage the image of state government. But they are ending up in harming initiatives to reach good governance to the people.”
