Agartala: Agartala city in Tripura received the Swachh City Award in Swachh Survekshan 2023. The award was given by the central government.

Dipak Majumdar, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation said that almost 4,475 municipal corporations are there in India, among these 54 corporations were selected as best performing in various fields. In this Agartala Municipal Corporation has received the “Swachh City Award”. Agartala City is awarded as the cleanest city. The mayor said that this award is a matter of pride for the city.

“After the establishment of the BJP government in 2018 in Tripura and after winning municipal elections by BJP in 2021, we are working for various departments and especially on cleanliness,” he said. “With this award, we have got three awards consecutively. We are trying to keep Agartala City clean, and I especially want to thank all the people of Agartala City. I along with all Municipal Councilors, and MIC members will always try to make Agartala more cleaner city,” Majumdar added. (ANI)
