GUWAHATI: Member of Parliament and chief of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Maulana Badruddin Ajmal on Saturday sent a letter to the President of India, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, urging for action against goons who allegedly carried out series of attack on Muslims and vandalized Muslim religious places in Tripura. He stated in the letter, "I would like to draw your kind attention towards the incidents of planned series of attacks on Muslims by mobs of goons during last one week. These attacks are very disturbing for innocent people. Unfortunately, the State government of Tripura totally failed in protecting religious minority of the state and taking timely action against the culprits. Consequently, hate-mongers and goons consistently targeted individuals of Muslim community and set multiple mosques on fire as well as vandalized houses of Muslims."

He urged the Prime Minister to take stringent action against those who attacked Muslim minority religious place and to ensure safety of Muslims in the State.
