BJP ally Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT) to finalize ADC election strategy

Agartala: The central executive committee of the Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT), a constituent of the ruling alliance in the State, will meet here to finalize its strategy for the forthcoming election of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.

Though some organizational matters are on the agenda, it is learned that finalizing the strategy for the TTAADC election will be the main focus, general secretary of the party Mevar Kumar Jamatia who is also the Minister for Tribal Welfare indicated.

Finalizing strategy for the election assumed special significance as the dominant partner in the alliance the BJP has not yet taken any initiative to form an alliance in the election. Instead, the BJP has intensified its organizational activities independently throughout the State and the statements made by the BJP leaders suggest that they are preparing to contest the election alone.
