BJP duped the country: Congress candidate Pragya Debbarman

Agartala: Congress candidate for East Tripura (Tribal Reserve) constituency Pragya Debbarman came down heavily against the BJP-led government in Tripura accusing them of duping the people with faults promises.

Addressing a public meeting at Hospital Road in Kamalpur, she said in their vision document, the BJP made a promise to create jobs for every household but none happened. She also held workers meet at Halahuli, where 150 persons from other parties joined the Congress.

She said, “Peoples’ dignity has come under threat in this State which has become the biggest concern at this moment. Peoples’ democratic rights are being curtailed and any kind of protest is being thwarted with force. It has reached into an intolerable limit.”

Talking about the National Register of Citizen and Citizenship Amendment Bill she said, “The BJP is unable to solve peoples’ problem. The State has its many problems and it is most unwanted to invite people from other places to settle here.

Criticizing the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she accused them of being insensitive about the peoples’ problem and said the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing at regular interval. “Similar is the condition of all other essential commodities but the government is list bothered about i,” she added. Former PCC president Birajit Sinha and other senior party leaders like Manik Bhattacharjee, Gopal Chakraborty, Debabrata Malaker were present in the meeting presided over by district Congress president Manik Deb.
