BJP Sweeps Tripura's Dhanpur and Boxanagar Bypolls
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secures a resounding victory in Tripura's Dhanpur and Boxanagar by-polls, signaling strong public support for PM Modi and BJP President Nadda.
AGARTALA: In a stunning electoral triumph, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in the bypolls held in Tripura's Dhanpur and Boxanagar constituencies. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that BJP candidate Tafajjal Hossain secured an impressive lead of 30,237 votes in the Boxanagar seat, leaving his closest competitor, Mizan Hossain of the CPI(M), trailing with a mere 3,909 votes.
Meanwhile, in the Dhanpur seat, BJP's Bindu Debnath clinched victory with a substantial margin of 18,871 votes, leaving Kaushik Chanda of the CPI(M) behind with 11,146 votes. These bypolls, which took place on September 5, have sent shockwaves through Tripura's political landscape.
The by-election in Dhanpur was necessitated by the resignation of BJP's Pratima Bhoumik, who stepped down to retain her Lok Sabha seat, thereby creating a vacancy in the state assembly. In her place, Bindu Debnath, Pratima Bhoumik's brother, contested for the BJP against Kaushik Chanda of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).
In Boxanagar, the bypoll occurred due to the unfortunate passing of CPI(M) MLA Samsul Haque. This contest witnessed a head-to-head battle between the BJP and CPI(M).
Following these remarkable victories, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his gratitude to the people of Boxanagar and Dhanpur constituencies and congratulated the BJP for its landslide win. He conveyed his appreciation by stating, "I thank the people of Boxanagar & Dhanpur assembly constituencies for this landslide victory of Bharatiya Janata Party in the bye-polls. This victory represents the people's continuous faith in PM Shri @narendramodi Ji & @BJP4India President @JPNadda Ji, We shall continue to work to fulfill the people's aspirations."
These electoral results not only underscore the BJP's strong presence in Tripura but also reflect the enduring trust that the electorate places in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President J.P. Nadda. The sweeping victory in these bypolls is a significant political development with potential ramifications for the state's political landscape.
