Couple Commits Suicide At Police Station In Tripura's Gomti District

Agartala: A young couple on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide at a police station in Tripura's Gomti district as their families were against their relationship.

The girl was from Gandacherra while the boy, identified as Ananda Chakma was a resident of Sabroom under the south Tripura district.

According to reports, the couple was in a relationship and had eloped recently.

Anguished over the act, the daughter's father lodged an FIR with the Gandacherra Police Station alleging that his daughter was kidnapped by Chakma.

Based on the complaint, police traced the couple and brought them to the Silchar police station, where they consumed poison.

They were immediately rushed to the hospital, but the duo died.
