Emerging North East 2020 ends on high note

Guwahati: Emerging North East 2020 organized by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) ended on a promising note at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre here on Saturday. The event saw fruitful B2B, G2B and G2G meetings focussed on growing Northeast’s footprints all over India and abroad. Eminent speakers and panellists shared encouraging thoughts to draw future goals for northeastern region of the country.

The three-day expo-cum-business meet was attended by a slew of dignitaries and industry experts. A series of discussions and business meetings were held with focus on leveraging agri and food processing potential, role of industry, stakeholders, institutions in the overall development of the northeastern region while highlighting beneficiary schemes and support for the region provided by the government of India.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Skill Development and the Government of Assam.

The concluding day of the 3rd Emerging North East focused on capacity building of MSMEs and the tribal entrepreneurs from NER by imparting training personality development, negotiation skills, marketing, packaging, branding and social media.

Ashutosh Mishra, Director, Regional Office, TRIFED while addressing the audience applauded the organizer and said, “ASSOCHAM has located the industry in each and every one of you present here. Farmers are the real experts in their field while the industrialists can only paint and do a brush up of their work to enhance their productivity and growth.”

Giving a special address, ASS Dewan, Associate Professor, IIE said “Activities of IIE are promotion of new entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, creation of environment for entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial education, etc.”
