Agartala : The first attempt of the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura to regain its lost ground in the hills based on the demand for Assam-like National Register of Citizens got success as a good number of tribal youths turned up to attend the party’s much publicized rally at Khumulung, the head quarter of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council on Tuesday.

Though the rally was organized in the name of Youth INPT, the party mobilized all its forces to make it a success as people from different parts of the state turned up at Dukhmali, from where the rally begins. Considerable numbers of youths were among the participants. INPT president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawal, Secretary Jagadish Debbarma, Asst. secretary Rabindra Debbarma, Shib Charan Debbarma, President of the Youth INPT Jammu Debbarma and Secretary Uma Shankar Debbarma spoke on the occasion.

In the first major rally after the formation of the BJP-IPFT government came into power the leaders mainly targeted the Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Twipra, a constituent of the ruling two party alliances. They accused the IPFT leaders for betraying with the tribal people of the state.
