A minor girl from Tripura, who was sold to man for Rs 1.5 lakh, was rescued by the Rajasthan Child Right Commission from Jaipur.

The incident came to light when the teen ran away from the house arrest and the accused approached the LOCAL police station.

The accused's name is Raju and he had confined her to his home. He claims that he married her.

The victim has been sent back home after the news of her rescue was published in the local newspaper.

On May 2, the accused approached the police station and filed a missing complaint. Two days later, the police found the minor girl but she refused to go with the accused, claiming that she had been abused.

After she denied, SDM Jhunjuna sent her to a shelter in Swadhara Women Home (SWH).

According to the SWH officials, she claimed that she had been trafficked and also stated her real name.

It has been reported that the minor was allegedly raped by the male members of the family. She is now two months pregnant.

The Tripura high court has issued to the Tripura Government, Tripura Human Rights Commission, Tripura State Legal Services Authority, Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, District Collector of Unkoti District of Tripura regarding the incident.
