Despite the grim times, the circle of life continues. In a special development, a lady who was travelling in the 05623 Shramik Special Train from Jirania in Tripura to Khagaria in Bihar, gave birth to a healthy baby on the way.

Railway authorities said that migrant worker Binod Chauhan and his pregnant wife Mintu Devi were headed to Khagaria in Bihar via a train meant for ferrying stranded labourers back, when his wife started having sudden fits of pain. The Katihar Health authorities were informed and the train was stopped at the Katihar station, where the woman gave birth to the child.

After examination by health personnel, the mother and child were deemed fit to continue their journey via the train and finally reached Khagaria. The migrants, we were informed, hail from the Nawada district in Bihar.

Altogether 35 Shramik special trains, including the one from Jirania, carrying nearly 42,000 migrant workers, students and other stranded persons reached different places of Bihar on Monday.
