Agartala: The police have arrested six persons for appearing on behalf of others in the class 12 examination conducted by the National Institute of Open School. All of these proxy examinees were released on bail as all of them are minors.

The incident took place when the examination for social studies was going on in the Bhagini Nivedita School. At the beginning of the examination, the hall in-charge told if any proxy examinee is there they must go out. But these six fake examinees did not respond and continued their examinations. Subsequently, on computer verification of their admit card, the six were found fake. These proxy examinees were from Churaibari, Darchui and Patcherthal.

Earlier, these examinations used to take place in the RKI Institute when proxy examinations were a regular feature. This year the examination center was shifted and the authority took a strict attitude.
