Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday went to the eleventh meeting of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala and urged that the graduating students take up entrepreneurship and contribute in creating Tripura as a 'Model State'.

Talking at the convocation, Biplab said that his legislature is attempting to create Tripura as a 'model state' on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'New India' plans.

"I am told NIT Agartala has a record of 70 percent campus placement. This is very good, but, I shall ask the students to be job creators instead of being employees. The youth force should think about the country,”the CM said.

Talking about IIM graduate Dilip Kalra's example of overcoming adversity with Make My Trip and the ascent of Indian organization Ola Cabs, Biplab stated, Indian students have made Make My Trip and Ola. Why can’t you do something similar? Don’t be employees, be entrepreneurs. The state government will be with you” He urged that students work in firms where they have been placed for a few years and after that attempt their hands at entrepreneurship.

Biplab additionally said that Tripura will be produced as a noteworthy travel and coordination center point in upper east India in 6-7 months time. He said India has settled a concurrence with Bangladesh for access to Chittagong port and the state government is building a scaffold with the neighboring nation over River Feni in South Tripura. "Merchandise will be transported from Bangladesh to Tripura. We will grow inland water transport by interfacing River Gomati and River Meghna in Bangladesh. Amid the conference function, Tripura Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki was granted an honorary D.Litt by NIT, Agartala amid the meeting. 22 other Ph.D. researchers, 170 M.Tech understudies and understudies from Master in Business Administration (MBA), Master in Science (M.Sc), Master in Computer Application (MCA), Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) disciplines were granted their degrees.
