Tripura BJP vice president Rampada Jamatia tests positive for coronavirus

Guwahati: Tripura MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party Vice President Rampada Jamatia along with his wife and two personal guards tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday, confirmed the state's Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. The MLA and others have been transported to the Covid-19 Care Centre for their treatment.

"MLA & @BJP4Tripura Vice President Shri Rampada Jamatia, his wife and his 2 PG found COVID-19 #POSITIVE. They have been admitted to CCC & team of specialised doctors are taking care of them. I pray to Mata Tripurasundari for their speedy recovery", Deb wrote in his tweet.

Meanwhile, the other family members, neighbours and colleagues of MLA Rampada Jamatia have also been advised and directed by the Covid Care Centre authorities to maintain social distancing and stay in isolation until they are tested for the virus.

Notably, the Tripura MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President Rampada Jamatia is the first peoples' representative of Tripura to get infected with coronavirus.
