AGARTALA: In a major operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully thwarted multiple smuggling attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura, seizing contraband goods worth ₹17 lakh.
BSF seized several contraband articles planned to be smuggled across the border into Bangladesh: Phensedyl, Ganja, mobile phones, and sugar. The total amount for the seized goods was ₹11,20,307. This is in continuation of BSF efforts to curb illegal trade between the two countries; indeed, the force does not let its vigilance slacken for one moment.
In another series of raids, the BSF also recovered cattle smuggled across the border and other contraband items like Phensedyl, liquor, and various other smuggled goods worth Rs 6,22,208. These operations, therefore, demonstrate the BSF's commitment towards border security from illegal activities that jeopardize not just national security but also the economy.
The BSF continues intense border surveillance and uses operations based on intelligence to discover and intercept smuggling operations. The seized items have been submitted to the concerned authorities for further legal action. The operation serves as a reminder of the persistent threat of illegal trade and the BSF’s critical role in ensuring the security of India’s borders.
