AGARTALA: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday met with a team from Reliance Jio, an important step in Tripura's efforts to bring in significant investments.
Dr. Saha shared details of the meeting on his Facebook page, which followed earlier talks with Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries, in Mumbai and at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati.
In these meetings, Dr. Saha laid out his vision of a developed Tripura and invited the collaboration of Ambani to turn it into a reality.
The Reliance Jio team, led by their North Eastern Zone Business Head, visited to investigate investment opportunities in some major sectors. The sectors included are Information Technology, Data Centres, production of natural gas and fertilizers, petroleum sector, production of ethanol from bamboo, rubber wood furniture making, agro-food processing, and tourism.
Dr. Saha expressed excitement about the team’s interest in the IT sector, which could be a key area for future collaboration. He is hopeful about working with the Reliance Group to help Tripura grow.
Dr. Saha also mentioned that many companies have already shown interest in investing in Tripura and have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the state government. He highlighted his meetings with well-known business leaders, including Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Natarajan Chandrasekaran from the Tata Group, all of whom have promised to invest in Tripura, which could lead to significant progress for the state.
