Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb to hold all-party meeting on COVID-19

Agartala: Chief Minister of the corona- free Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, has called an all party meeting on April 29 to discuss preventive measures needed to be taken to prevent any kind of recurrence of the disease and at the same time how to begin economic activities in the State.

The Chief Minister has recently declared Tripura as corona-free after the two positive cases found in the State were cured and released from hospital. The State has also granted some relaxation in lockdown restrictions from April 20.

Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the steps taken by the government to prevent coronavirus infections was successful and now the government wants to discuss with all the political parties the next course of action.

The Chief Minister has already appealed to the peasants and workers to start production in the primary sector. He also said the coronavirus has taught us the need to be self-sufficient and the primary sector of the economy can play a vital role in this way.

It is presumed that the Chief Minister has some pet project in mind for achieving self-sufficiency in various sectors and would place it before the meeting to get an all-party approval.
