Tripura: 'Dead' Man Returns Home During His Shradh

Agartala: In an interesting turn of events, a 22-year-old man, who was declared dead, returned home during his shradh ceremony in the West Tripura district.

The person named Akash Sarkar had gone missing about a month ago following which a missing complaint was filed at the police station by his father.

Later, acting on the complaint, on June 3, police recovered a body from a lake near Melarmath under West Agartala police station.

After the initial inquiry, it was revealed that the body is of someone from Kalibazar and Akash's father based on a bag, which was found along with the body, claimed that this is of his son.

Meanwhile, the police have said that they will investigate the matter as it was a case of mistaken identity.

However, Akash's father has alleged that he was pressurised by the police to identify the body as that of his son.
