
Tripura: In a major boost for farmers in Tripura, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that over ₹45 crore will be disbursed to registered beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) on 2 August.
Speaking to the media, Minister Nath said that ₹45 crore 43 lakh 74 thousand will be credited directly to the bank accounts of Tripura’s farmers at 11 AM on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the transfer from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, as part of a national event.
Main Event will Take Place in Agartala; PM to Address Farmers
The main state-level function will be held at the State Agriculture Research Station in AD Nagar, Agartala. Minister Nath will attend the event and join in listening to the Prime Minister’s address. He also encouraged farmers across the state to gather in their villages and at Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) to hear PM Modi speak.
“This is a proud moment for Tripura’s farming community. The Centre and state are working hand in hand to strengthen the agricultural sector and secure the livelihoods of our farmers,” said Nath.
He emphasised the government’s continued commitment to rural development and agricultural welfare, adding, “Our farmers are the backbone of the state’s progress, and this assistance is just one of many steps we are taking to support them.”
The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible farmers with ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments, aiming to ease financial pressure and promote sustainable agriculture.
