AGARTALA: Four people were injured after TIPRA Motha supporters reportedly attacked BJP workers during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' program organized at Bongsibari village under Charilam constituency in Sephahijala district.

The injured individuals who have been admitted to Bishalgarh Hospital, also involved BJP's Morcha district president.

Tension prevailed in the region as the conflict, which was initially confined to Bongsibari, had later spread to the neighbouring villages.

The clash also resulted in the loss of four motorcycles which were vandalized in the attack. Cases have been registered by both parties at the Bishalgarh Police Station.

The authorities are working on diffusing the tension that has ensued in Charilam after the incident.

Earlier in December, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the PM’s focus on themes like unity in diversity, sports, and fitness after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio show “Mann Ki Baat”.

Saha highlighted the inclusivity of the program, noting significant participation from the tribal community, which added to its relevance. The CM praised the program for addressing key issues and fostering a spirit of harmony and fitness across communities.

Yesterday, around 10 lakh BJP workers in Assam tuned in to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Mann Ki Baat" radio programme. According to BJP Assam Pradesh, workers listened across 28,532 booths under 7,517 Shakti Kendras, 433 mandal committees, and 39 organizational districts.
