AGARTALA: The government of Tripura is seriously striving to improve nursing education in the state, Chief Minister Manik Saha said. This follows six candidates who were recently selected as Nursing Caregivers under the Specified Skill Workers Scheme at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIFT). These students will be starting a career in Japan as nursing professionals.
The six nurses will be part of the nursing community in Japan upon successful completion of their training under the Mukhya Mantri Dakhyata Unnayan Prakalpa.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with Japan to make this possible, which is a major milestone for nursing education in Tripura.
On the occasion, CM Saha congratulated the students, noting that students who have been trained in Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) have been provided with this special opportunity. To make them ready for their jobs, the students have been sent to Noida to study the Japanese language so that they are ready for their new surroundings.
Expressing pride in the initiative, CM Saha emphasized the importance of nursing as a vital service profession. He encouraged the students to represent India and Tripura with excellence in their work abroad, noting that they will earn salaries exceeding Rs 1 lakh while in Japan.
The function was graced by top officials, such as Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. The announcement highlights the Tripura government's determination to upgrade nursing education and offer international career prospects for its students.
