

AGARTALA: The IT department of the Government of Tripura launched a 'Mobile Common Service Centre' on Monday to provide services to Panchayat and interior areas where Internet access is rarely available.
Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Verma, Director of IT department, Naresh Babu, Transport Minister Pranjit Singha Roy, Cultural Affairs Minister Sushant Chaudhary and the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) were present at this event. Jishnu Dev Verma flagged off 27 vehicles for the initial phase of the innovation. He said, "The Mobile Common Service centre is set up or installed in the Mobile Vehicle which is reachable and accessible to each and every family. All families should feel that the Government works for all regardless of barriers".
As a part of this service, computers, printers and all accessories are available to help the people of interior areas who fail to avail important Government documents or certificates due to residing in such places.
Jishnu Dev Verma said, "This kind of service is scarce and for the first time in the history of the small, hilly State of Tripura such a service has been created".
These moving vehicles have no area restrictions and could move to any panchayat or interior areas, said Dev Verma. (ANI)
