Tripura: Suspicious Black Bag Triggers Bomb Scare at Agartala Airport

AGARTALA: ahead of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee's visit to the city, reports of a suspicious bag being found at the Agartala airport surfaced on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the bomb squad and airport security were rushed to the spot to look for possible explosives planted ahead of the TMC leader's visit to the city.

According to reports, an unidentified black bag was recovered at the airport premises in Tripura, which triggered a bomb scare.

However, no explosive material has been found in the region and the airport has been cordoned off.

Notably, the TMlC has scheduled a number of rallies in Agartala despite the Tripura Police denying permission for any political events fearing violence.

On the otherhand, Trinamool Congress alleged "mayhem" in BJP-ruled Tripura on Sunday as its leader, actor Sayoni Ghosh, was arrested by the police and accused of an attempt to murder. Alleging repeated instances of violence, the party decided to take the matter to Delhi.

This is a developing story.
