AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that discussions are ongoing to set up satellite townships in three locations across the state.

The Chief Minister stated that these satellite townships would be planned and equipped with all the necessities while speaking at the district-level workshop on the deliberations of the 4th National Conference of Chief Secretaries at Rajarshi Hall in Udaipur, southern Tripura.

“We have launched a single-window portal to facilitate ease of doing business. We must work actively, especially in the aspirational districts. More efforts are needed in this area. We must also focus on an affordable housing policy. We must explore ways to generate income,” he added.

According to the Chief Minister, government officials and workers are the driving force of any state and should concentrate on key areas. According to CM Saha, no state, district, or nation can advance without its officers and staff.

He said that six topics—manufacturing, services, rural non-farm sectors, urban development, renewable energy, and the circular economy—were prioritized at the previous Chief Secretaries' Conference.

Self-Help Groups (SHGs) were the subject of lengthy talks at the conference, according to CM Saha, and he added that the number of SHG groups have increased in Tripura, but quality and production are also essential. He proposed a contest amongst Tripura's eight districts as part of the "One District, One Product" campaign.
