Tripura to expand rubber cultivation across 20,485 hectares; Manik Saha

AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced plans on Friday to expand rubber cultivation across 20,485 hectares and establish 10 new rubber processing centers to enhance the state's economy. This announcement was made during the inauguration of several development projects in Khowai district.

Dr. Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people, stating, “The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government is a people-oriented government.” The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Teliamura Motor Stand and virtually opened three school buildings: Teliamura English Medium Class XII School, Kabi Nazrul Vidya Bhavan Class XII School, and Mungiabari Class XII School. Additionally, he inaugurated a two-storey building at Kalyanpur Higher Secondary School and the new Kalyanpur BDO Residence.

Emphasizing the government's success, Dr. Saha pointed out that more than 16,000 government posts have been filled in the last seven years. He assured that attempts are being made to appoint eligible teachers through the Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tripura, to meet educational requirements.

The Chief Minister also gave review on infrastructure projects, such as the building of National Highway (NH 208) from Khowai to Teliamura and the land acquisition for four-laning of NH 08 from Mungiakami to Champaknagar.

Dignitaries like Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma were present at the event and participated in the celebration of the government's continuing development work.
