Tripura to Get Flight Service of Deccan Airlines Post Durga Puja

In rather good news to the people living in Tripura, the state is to get new flight services of Deccan Airlines. As known from trusted sources of Deccan Airlines, the airline has decided to start its flight services in the busy Agartala-Kolkata and Kolkata-Agartala routes.

The airline has decided to go for the route after another airline SpiceJet pulled off its services from the route. The good news is that apart from Deccan Airlines, GoAir is also showing a certain interest in providing their flight services to Agartala.

As a part of inspection before launching its fresh venture into the northeastern state, Deccan Airline authority has sent a team to pay a visit to Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. The team examined the market feasibility of the airport.

A report released by the Airport Authority of India officials revealed that flight services in the Agartala-Kolkata and Kolkata-Agartala routes may be launched by the Deccan Airline. However, a final decision is still pending. The AAI report also stated that this new flight service will be quite beneficial to the flyers of the State.

SpiceJet stopped its flight services in both routes from September 1 last and this has made it a very lengthy and costly matter for the commuters to fly to Agartala.

As per the latest fare chart, a flyer who takes a ticket for Agartala-Kolkata route is priced at Rs 4000 plus and when it comes to fly from Kolkata to Agartala, the ticket prices get much costlier.
