Tripura's Tepania Eco-Park becomes an adventure tourist spot

Agartala: Far from the humdrum of regular life amidst nature, Tripura's log huts are attracting a lot of tourists which are worth experiencing. 47km from Agartala, in the midst of the jungle of Tepania Eco-park, the log huts are sitting in the midst of mother nature.

These log huts have been constructed by Tripura Tourism Development Corporation (TTDCL). They just blend in with nature and its natural ambience, however, at the same time these huts are fully equipped with all the modern facilities.

After months of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, these log huts are opened for the tourists now.

The tourists coming to stay here have the facility to order food or they can also dine in the restaurants.

Only a few days after the huts were inaugurated early this year, they had to be shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic but now after more than six months the doors of the log huts are again open and tourists have crammed in to experience the peaceful and serene life there.

Tourists mostly arrive here in the afternoon to enjoy the evening here with their family and friends.

The park has reopened on October 1 after the coronavirus lockdown and receiving good response since then.

"Tourists visiting here are from the state," said Arup Paul, park manager.

Besides staying in the log huts, the early morning walk in the midst of the wooden path through the green canopy and the bamboo groves is no less than a dreamlike experience.

The Tripura Tourism Minister, Pranajit Singha Roy had said, "Government has developed several places for adventure tourism. Tripura will soon become a tourist destination; it will increase the revenue of the state and provide jobs to unemployed youngsters. Many tourism development projects are underway."

Development of tourism infrastructure and service will strengthen the rural economy and provide employment, boosting Tripura's economic growth and development, the minister further added.

Seeing the response of the tourists, the TTDCL is setting up similar log huts in Sipahijala Reserve Forest and Baramura Eco-Park. A total of 38 log huts shall be set up across the state.
