OBITUARY Hem Chandra Saikia

Hem Chandra Saikia, a retired teacher, founder secretary of Borpukhuri Par Mukoli Bihu and a resident of Shantipur here, breathed his last today in a private hospital at Tezpur. He was 89. He was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the Greater Jamugurihat area. Representatives of various organizations and individuals paid homage to his mortal remains. He leaves behind his wife, sons and daughters besides many relatives. His demise has cast a pall of gloom in the entire area.
