Alphabet Launches its Own Competitor for ChatGPT
CALIFORNIA: ChatGPT, the AI-based chatbot had received immense popularity worldwide and not Google has unveiled its own tool with similar perspectives. Named Bard, this tool was launched on Monday. The CEO of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai mentioned that Bard will initially be opened to "trusted testers" and later to the general public.
Just like ChatGPT which was developed by OpenAI and released to the public in late November, Bard also has been built on a large language model. It has been trained using vast loads of online data to generate intelligent responses to user prompts.
"Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models. It draws on information from the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses." Sundar Pichai wrote on a blog.
This launch comes soon after Google's online search faced significant competition for the first time since its launch just after two months of the launch of OpenGPT. While Google Search is capable of returning only online documents in various forms based on keywords, OpenGPT was capable of generating a variety of creative products including essays, stories, lyrics and a variety of other creative content.
This launch also comes after Microsoft planned to invent millions into OpenAI to incorporate OpenGPT into their Bing Search engine which was at one time one of the main search engines of the online world. The brand has already called for a press conference on Tuesday, which is expected to drop this announcement.
The Language Model for Dialogue Applications technology which was revealed more than two years back by Google forms the backbone of Bard and is expected to simplify a variety of topics for all users. This facility is expected to be incorporated into the search engine soon after the testing phase is completed.
