New Delhi: Once used by business tycoons and other notable persons, the journey of the smartphone 'Black Berry' comes to an end as it will no longer be in use from today. All services of blackberry devices will be shut down from today.

With this, an era has come to an end in the Smartphone market and it will only just remain as a showpiece.

Notably, Blackberry was once the status symbol of the people in terms of style and look. As the services will be shut down from today, now one can't call anyone or use the internet on their blackberry devices.

Reportedly, the company has stopped the support of its classic phone from 4 January 2022, which it had announced this long back.

According to the company, all those Blackberry classic devices that run on BlackBerry 10, 7.1 OS or earlier software have been discontinued from January 4. After this, no data will be accessible from the phone. Apart from these, SMS and emergency services will also not work.

According to reports, the company is focusing on providing security software and services to enterprises and governments around the world under the name Blackberry Limited and due to this, the company has taken this step.

Notably, during its time, the phone's was in great demand due to security and safety features. Encryption features were its most important part but lost its identity amid the growing popularity of Android phones. After 2016, most of the phones went out of the market.

In the past few years, the company has developed TCL and security startups for 5G Blackberry devices running Android software.
