New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched Hilux Lifestyle pickup vehicle which will compete with Isuzu V-Cross in India after a long wait and its sale is expected to start in March this year.

As per the reports, the Hilux will be offered only in the double-cab variant. The Hilux is built on the AIMV-2 platform and looks a lot like the Toyota Fortuner.

Notably, at first glance, it will get a glimpse of the LED DRL Innova Crysta with a new large-sized grille and sweptback LED headlamps which is also a very attractive and important part of this vehicle. The impressive ground clearance of this vehicle shows bumpers as strong.

Apart from these, the 18-inch alloy wheels, attractive wheel arches, side steps, body cladding together give it a strong look. Besides this, the Toyota Hilux gets LED taillights and blacked-out wing mirrors which enhance its urban appeal.

Cabin

According to reports, in terms of cabin, the Toyota Hilux is almost identical to the Fortuner which is currently being sold in India. The vehicle gets an all-black cabin with the same layout as the Fortuner. Coming to the vehicle's features, it gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 8-speaker JBL sound system, ventilated seats, cruise control, electrically adjustable front seats, app-based connected car technology, and features like wireless charging.

Engine

The vehicle has also got an impressive engine specification as it is powered by the Fortuner's 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 201 Bhp of power and 420 Nm of peak torque. Interestingly, the automatic variant of the SUV produces 500 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle will only be available in 4 by 4 versions and the SUV will also get Drive Assist features, including hill assist, brake assist, hill descent control, and features such as electronic stability program, limited-slip differential, and differential lock, in addition to the Hilux Can be operated in 700 mm deep water.

Expected price

The expected price of the vehicle is likely to be kept from Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom).

It will be a rival to the likes of the Isuzu V-Cross which has a starting price of ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom).
