571th Birth Anniversary of Srimanta Sankardeva celebrated in Digboi

The 571th Abirbhava Tithi (Birth anniversary) of Srimanta Sankardeva, the 16th century Vaishnavite saint was celebrated with great devotion and religious fervour across Assam on Tuesday.

Notably, three day programme have been conducted across various parts of the state including oil town Digboi.

During these three day event various competitions along with 'Bhaona', Naam-Prasanga and Recitation of Guru Charita was performed in Digboi's Balijan area.

The event was jointly organized by almost 17 Namghar committee members under Digboi constituency, thus, turning the entire area a solemn abode.
