AASU stage sit-in protest against CAA 2019 in Tinsukia

Demanding the scrapping of the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019, the Tinsukia unit of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) staged a two-hour sit-in protest at the premises of Dr Bhupen Hazarika Udayan in Tinsukia's Thana Charali today in collaboration with 30 ethnic communities of Assam.

It may be mentioned that after the proclamation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, the entire nation has raised their voice against the contentious law.

Also, under the aegis of AASU, student groups, artists, civil society organizations, lawyers, filmmakers, different political personalities, actors and many more have been continuously protesting against the act in Assam and Northeast since past one and half month.
