Alleged Illegal Coal Mining in Margherita turned into nightmare for Workers of ANE Mining Company

Workers of ANE Mining Company on Tuesday staged a sit-in demonstration and urged upon the Coal India Limited and Government of India for immediate lifting of ban in coal mining at the Tikak Colliery in Margherita.

As per reports, after a recent drive against illegal coal mining in the area, Forest Department had seized at least 4,000 tons of illegal coal and had reportedly stopped coal mining at Tikak Colliery since October 24, 2019.

Meanwhile, a fear psychosis gripped amongst the workers of ANE Mining Company in Margherita after the prohibition of coal mining in the area.
