Sivasagar: All Tai Ahom Students' Union (ATASU) staged a massive protest against contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill and granting the status of Scheduled Tribes (STs) to six communities of Assam by bringing out a torch light march at Gaurisagar in Amguri on Friday evening.

Sarupathar (Golaghat): All Assam Students' Union (AASU) along with 30 other indigenous organisation took out a massive protest rally against contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 in Golaghat's Sarupathar on Saturday.

While speaking to "The Sentinel Digital" Raju Phukan, AASU organizing secretary of Dhansiri Subdivision, stated the agitation against the controversial Bill would be relentless unless it was withdrawn by the central government as it posed grave threat to the identity of indigenous communities in the State.

Guwahati: In Guwahati, the alumnus along with present students of Narengi Anchalik Mahavidyala also came out to protest against CAB on Saturday.

In the evening hours, intellectuals, artists, senior journalists, students, Matri Samaj among others staged a torch light march today evening to protest against CAB from Guwahati Club to Zoo Road via Chandmari in Guwahati.

Digboi: In Digboi, under the aegis of Pro-talk ULFA leader Jiten Dutta and AJYCP, a massive protest was staged against CAB today. Few protesters chop off hair to stage their protest against CAB.

Tinsukia: A bike rally was organized by All Moran Students Union from Tinsukia to Dirak Gate in Arunachal Pradesh demanding granting the status of Scheduled Tribes (STs) to six communities of Assam and withdrawal of Citizenship Amendment Bill.
