Container Truck carrying 26 cattle illegally, seized at Tinsukia Bypass, 3 detained for questioning

Tinsukia police on Thursday seized a container truck carrying 26 cattle and detained three people for questioning.

Last night, the container truck (bearing registration number- AS 12D 2516) was chased down at Tinsukia Bypass by some local organizations. Soon after, they discovered the cattle were being illegally smuggled inside the container truck; the members of the organizations informed the matter to officials at the Tinsukia police station, after which the police seized the truck and apprehended three people for interrogation.As per initial reports, these smuggled cattle were being allegedly transported to Nagaon in Assam.
