Hawker knocked down by speeding car in Jorhat

In a tragic incident, a hawker died in a road accident near Suladhora Soumarpith area in Jorhat in the wee hours on Saturday.

As per initial reports, the vehicle was heading towards Jorhat town when the driver lost control of his vehicle (AS 04AC 6074) and skidded onto the pavement knocking down a hawker.

It has also come to light the deceased person identified as Prashanta Dutta, is a resident of Torajan area in Jorhat town was a very famous hawker, he was known for his down to earth nature.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem.
