Mime Artist & Cotton University Student Ebraham Khalil staged a protest against CAA in Guwahati

Ebraham Khalil, Mime Artist and student of 3rd Semester M.A Persian Department at Cotton University walked down the street to stage protest against Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 on Friday. The student, who began his protest from Cotton University to Dispur Secretariat, was stopped by the police forces near Dighulipukhuri in Guwahati. He was then sent back.

There have been widespread protests throughout the state against CAA.

Led by All Assam Students' Union (AASU), AJYCP and others, the protests saw participation from various artistes, writers as well as intellectuals.

CAA aims to protect Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan by giving them Indian Citizenship.
