Mottock Yuva Chatra Parishad demands immediate release of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in Tinsukia

Demanding immediate release of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi and other leaders, the members of All Assam Mottock Yuva Chatra Parishad in Tinsukia burned the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Cabinet Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday.

It is to be noted that peasant leader Akhil Gogoi fell ill the day before he and three other KMSS leaders were to stage an indefinite fast in jail from March 1 against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Meanwhile, the fast has been "postponed" considering his ill-health.
