Programme for Awareness Generation on Disability and its Act

The Social Welfare Department, Government of Assam in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi is organizing a Media Interaction Programme under the "Awareness Generation Programme on Disability and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016."

As per section 39 of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the government has a mandate to conduct, encourage, support and promote awareness and sensitization programme to ensure that the rights of persons with disabilities provided under the Act is protected.
