Rise in cattle smuggling: AJYCP blocks National Highway 31 in Barpeta's Hauli

Following the rise in cattle smuggling in the State, the members of AJYCP staged 3-hour road blockade at National Highway 31 in Hauli under Barpeta District on Friday.

The protesters also claimed that the cattle heads are being illegally transported to neighbouring country Bangladesh via Hauli.

Demanding an enquiry into the matter, the body also urged for the intervention of the Home Department.
