Several missing after Boat carrying passengers capsizes in Tezpur

In a sensational incident, several persons are missing after a boat capsized on Jia Bharali River on Thursday afternoon in Bihiagaon of Tezpur.

As per reports, two women have been rescued from the spot, however, four minors and several others were reported missing.

Sources informed that the on board passengers were travelling from Bihiagaon to Tezpur 5th Mile for their weekly marketing when the accident took place.

The exact number of passengers the boat was carrying is not known.

Meanwhile, search and rescue operation by NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) is underway.
