Uproar in Charaideo Tea Estate, Garden workers staged protest

The Tea Labourers on Wednesday gheraoed Charaideo Tea Estate head office demanding 20% bonus ahead of Durga Puja celebrations next month.

Notably, the announcement of a 12% bonus ahead of the Durga Puja Celebration and 4% bonus prior to Diwali/Kali Puja by the tea garden management had led to an uproar in the tea estate.

Meanwhile, police personnel and CRPF jawans have been deployed in the area to bring down the situation under control.
