Watch | Children boycotts mid-day meals in Chirang, Meal Thrown out after Protests

At a time when the Midday meal workers are staging widespread protest against the Government for handing over the cooking and distribution of the meals to NGOs in the state, a chaotic situations erupts amongst the students at Bijni under Chirang District after an NGO named 'Sagan Chatra Bikas Samiti' allegedly distributed poor quality 'Khichdi' on Friday afternoon.

The agitated young students of Bandhab High School in Bijni came out in numbers to protest against the NGO and refused to eat the mid-day meals.

Later, Assistant Commissioner at Bijni Kaustav Moni Kalita visited the school for an inspection and have accordingly ordered probe on the matter.
