Like other parts of the state, Mid-day meal workers staged massive protest at Rowta in Udalguri on Friday morning.

Police personnel and security forces were deployed to bring down the situation under control in the area.

Agitated protesters also announced for a widespread protest for an indefinite period against the Government of Assam.

Notably, Assam Government has recently handed over the responsibility of cooking and distribution of mid-day meals to the NGOs in the state.
