Woman allegedly jumps to death from 3rd floor of Jorhat Medical College Hospital

A shocking incident was reported at Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) on Wednesday after a mother allegedly committed suicide in the mid night hours.

As per sources from the JMCH, the mother who committed suicide has recently given a birth to a girl child. She was admitted at JMCH on October 10.

Speaking to The Sentinel News, one of the doctors (name withheld) said, "The patient might have been under pressure to deliver a male child, however, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Later, the incident came to light. We cannot comment on the family issues, our work is to stabilize the health conditions of the mother and the baby."

She was psychologically little unstable, the doctors informed further.
