Wood-laden truck was seized near National Highway 31 in Bijni

Wood-laden truck was seized during a Naka checking conducted by Gerukabari police on mid night hours on Tuesday near National Highway 31.

As per a report, a police team under the supervision of officer in charge Nabajit Rai launched an operation at the NH 31 and seized several illegal timbers worth several lakhs of rupees from a truck bearing registration number AS 09 AC 7934.

Police sources also informed that the wood-laden truck was coming from Kajalgaon in Chirang and was heading towards Sarbhog in Barpeta District.

Police during the operation apprehended Anesh Ali (Truck Handyman), Saidul Ali (Driver) after they produce fake documents and challans during police interrogation.

It is to be noted that both the driver and handyman are the residents of Sorbhog in Barpeta District.
