Thanks for re-telecast of epics

The Doordarshan (DD) which lost viewers considerably after private channels were allowed to enter the domain of TV broadcasting is again regaining viewers after the re-telecast of the epic series – Ramayana and Mahabhara. The 'Ramayana' was first telecast at 9.30 am on each Sunday from January 25, 1987 to July 31, 1988; and 'Mahabharata' from October 2, 1988 to June 24, 1990 also on Sundays. It was a wise decision of the Prasar Bharati to re-telecast the epic series from March 28, 2020 during the lockdown period. The 'Ramayana' was viewed by 7.70 crore viewers on April 16, 2020 which is an all-time record. These two epics teach us how to lead our life and respect our elders, make life meaningful and many other significant things concerning life. The new generation could learn about our rich culture by viewing these epics. DD deserves thanks for the telecast of the two epics.
